We were visiting OKC and decided to try Arbuckle Mountain Original Fried Pies based on Yelp reviews. Oh boy! Am I ever glad we did! We were there Friday morning and I got an egg, bacon, and cheese pie for my breakfast. It was fabulous. The hot pies are cooked while you wait -- short wait, about 5 minutes. The pastry is flaky and crisp. I would recommend eating with a fork, though! We got fruit pies for later in the day. They were equally delicious! My only complaint was that I ordered a coconut and a chocolate peanut butter and ended up with two coconut (they were side-by-side in the case). My husband got the pecan and it was the best pecan pie he's ever had! We went back the next day for more pies -- got the chocolate peanut butter this time. It was good, but not as good as the pecan or the apricot or the blackberry. We will definitely go again the next time we're in OKC!
