Hi Ryan,There seems to be some misunderstanding about what the 4.5% service charge is intended to accomplish.To be clear, the service charge is not new. We implemented it in 2018, and it is not an attempt to eliminate tipping. There is no plan to move away from tipping. The service charge is a way for us to continue providing our serving and kitchen staff with fair wages and benefits without simply increasing menu prices. It is not intended to replace tips or reduce the income of our service staff.I understand that changes to restaurant pricing and service charges can lead to questions, and I'm happy to have those conversations. That said, some of the assumptions being made about our intentions and our employees’ compensation simply aren’t accurate.If you have questions about the service charge, I'd happily provide you with complete and accurate information about our policies and practices, rather than leaving you to draw conclusions from conversations or assumptions.We value our staff and are confident in the decisions we’ve made to support them while continuing to provide our guests with a great experience.Regards,Eric DueñasSenior Manager
