A truly worthy walk beyond the città murata. Choosing is never easy here, yet disappointment never exists. You are welcomed with such warmth by the owners that, even as an expat — or simply a traveller — you truly feel at home. My favourite salty combination: Pane Arso al carbone with Pepato di Casale Roccolo from the Mercato Coperto. My newest sweet discovery: chocolate bread with the caramelised peanut and cacao cream from Drogheria di Anna. Today, I also tried the cake with more di gelso and sambuco. Exceptional. Local, delicate, deeply rooted in the area’s silk history. Set on one of the old streets in quartiere Borghi, this place is worth the walk, the Saturday morning queue, and the pleasure of speaking with the owners and their clients, learning about local products and traditions while you wait. By the time I arrive home, the desire to taste everything always makes me forget to take pictures. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
