Avoid at all costs. This is a full on scam restaurant which overcharges tourists by 4x for medium quality food. The first red flag should have been a lack of menu. In hindsight, 'the menu is my mouth' should have told us all we needed to know about this restaurant. The server was extremely manipulative, playing the members of our group off each other to complete the scam. He was talking about how Americans are rich and my friends need to be careful in Sri Lanka because people will try to over charge us if they find out they are American... all the while overcharging my friends. When I pointed this out the waiter acted very hurt and offended, he proceeded to try and isolate my friend by turning on the charm and invoking God to claim he is an honest person. This led to a minor altercation between me and my friend that completely soured the evening. I left angry and disappointed. My friends left embarrassed and upset. Frankly, the whole street is a pale imitation of real streetfood. Gimmicky and attention seeking. I'm angry at myself for falling into such an obvious trap. I'm even angrier that I didn't get to experience authentic Sri Lankan street food and hospitality and wasted one of my only nights in Colombo having dinner at this restaurant. Edit: Upon reading the reviews, the owners claim the person scamming is not related to the restaurant, that the restaurant management has changed or is under renovation. They are lying. The business was in normal operation and the scammer was clearly a part of the team.
