Americans pancake with streaky bacon and maple syrup + pancake with poppy seeds, yogurt and blueberries. They were one fo the best pancakes stacks I ever had, fluffy and so delicious Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Recommended dishes: American Pancakes, Lemon and Poppy Seed Pancakes

The cafe is nice enough but if you actually need to use the laundrette, save yourself the frustration, and go somewhere else.(The Clean Bean further up Gloucester rd, Bishoptson/Horfield, is brilliant.)At The Well have only a few machines, which are always in use, it's very expensive, and the staff are totally unhelpful. There is no parking or unloading, anywhere nearby, and once you do get there, the chances of you successfully completing the laundry mission, are slim.The last wash is at 3.30pm, they're only open until 5pm. If you get there at 3pm, and the few machines they have there are full (and they will be), that's your tough luck - they won't help you. They will shrug, apologise, and send you away with your heavy, unwashed laundry. As they did to me, today, at just after 3pm.Today was my umpteeth and final failed attempt to use this laundrette.After I'd walked there, with my heavy, dirty laundry (I didn't drive because of the lack of parking). I was sent away, with my laundry unwashed, it was not even 3.30pm yet. I don't usually review, let alone take the time to write negative reviews, it's taken many annoying experiences with this place to actually get around to writing this one.UPDATE: My reccomended alternative, the Clean Bean, Gloucester rd, has a card machine, even for self service, which is a game-changer. There is parking, and the staff are lovely and they go out of their way to help you.It's taken me years of trying to use At The Well, wanting to like it, wanting to be a customer - but having seen the rude reply from the owner - I wish I'd written something sooner!In the reply the owner has said that you can put a wash on at 4:15pm. Why couldn't I do that today? I was sent away, at not even 3.30pm, which is advertised as last wash on the sign outside. No suggested alternative, no one said I could come back. Either what you're saying is incorrect, or a lie - or you've demonstrated the point I've made about totally unhelpful staff!!I don't go around writing negative reviews of local laundrettes on google for the fun of it. I just want to do my laundry!(Message to the owner: You charge a lot for a laundrette, at least you could be helpful, and/or understanding. I don't have a washing machine at home, I work full time hours, it's tough enough as it is, we are all doing their best to recover in these tough times. I don't like to be negative. A simple apology would have been appreciated, rather than a misplaced 'telling off' for sharing my experience, via the appropriate experience-sharing mechanism. )

You’re right in pointing out we have no designated parking (few in the city centre do) and that we close at 5pm. Most of our customers come by bike, bus or on foot. You can put a wash on at 1615, but we recommend before 1530 for those looking to wash, dry and fold their laundry before we close at 1700. We are constantly exploring how to make it easier for people to access our machines. At the moment you can book online if you want to ensure a machine is available on your arrival. I’m sorry if you found the machines busy. Clearly lots of people like the services we offer!! You’re welcome to go elsewhere. Please don’t slate small independent businesses online doing their utmost best to recover after months of closure and hard work.
