Attended 15/7/2026 for lunch with family. To say the meals were horrid would be an understatement. The garlic prawns were smothered in a horrible sauce - it was impossible to get the shells off without the sauce going everywhere. The mixed grill was terrible, the 'rissole' was horrible and dry. The sausage was withered and hard to cut and looked like it had come from Coles in one of those cheap sausage packs. The chips were ok. The only good meal at the table (of 6) was the chicken snitty with gravy. Of the 6 meals only one of them was eaten more than half way. Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

The Austral hotel is a great meeting place for us when catching up with people. You can order at the bar and pay separately if needed. The menu is extensive with something for everyone and there are nearly always specials. We ordered parmas, steaks and burgers. Everything was really good and tasty. We went on Valentine's day (family catch up) and they were moderately busy but we didn't wait long for our meals at all. The meals are generous in their sizing and some of us couldn't finish them especially the big parmas. It was nice to have fresh veg and not frozen. It's nice to visit here, the staff were friendly and happy to add and change one of our meals. Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
