Visited Avartana last year, and honestly, it was the meal that introduced me to what a true degustation experience feels like. Every course felt deeply thought through — not just visually beautiful, but technically sharp and incredibly balanced in flavor. The way they play with texture, temperature, smoke, spice, and acidity is genuinely world class What I appreciated most was that Avartana doesn’t rely on flashy theatrics. The food speaks for itself. Confident cooking, refined presentation, and a menu that keeps surprising you course after course. Service was exceptional — knowledgeable, graceful, and perfectly paced. Combined with the elegant atmosphere at ITC Ratnadipa, the entire evening felt memorable from start to finish. A restaurant that quietly proves Indian cuisine can stand at the highest global fine dining level. Price per person: Rs 5,000–6,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

An unforgettable dining experience here. We chose the 9 an 11 courses tasting menus and were impressed from start to finish. Every course was beautifully presented and the flavours were exceptional. The chefs create surprising combinations that I was not used to. The service was equally memorable with Yehan who took great care of us and helped make the experience even more enjoyable. He could answer all our questions regarding food associations and ways of cooking and it’s definitely a plus. Everything was consistent from the first course to the last one. I left wishing I could come back and try the other tasting menus. So for any foodie, I definitely recommend the place to experience the mix of modern Indian and Sri Lanka cuisine. Fine dining at its best in Colombo, impeccable ambience, service, and food. Yehan helped us for choosing the right tasting menu and was incredibly hospitable and friendly, explained all food choices throughout. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they helped to arrange a surprise cake. The food looked like work of art and tasted delicious. Must try if you're in Colombo. Can't recommend enough and not possible to give more than 5 stars. Worth every penny. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
