Time Visited: First visit at the Boston location (but I’ve been to the NYC locations multiple times) Reservation: Reservation recommended Food: Seafood here is always top-notch. We shared the jumbo shrimp and Avra chips (their fried zucchini chips), and both were excellent. My girlfriends ordered several fish dishes from the fresh seafood showcase, though I honestly can’t remember all the names because there were so many. For drinks, I started with a cocktail and then switched to club soda. Overall, the quality was exactly what I expected from Avra - fresh, polished, and consistently good. Price: Definitely on the expensive side. I don’t remember the exact pricing at the NYC locations I usually visited (Madison Ave and the one near Rockefeller), but Boston felt a bit pricier than I expected. Atmosphere: Elegant, lively, and polished without feeling too stiff. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a date night, a girls’ dinner, or a family gathering for a special occasion. Would I revisit this place? Yes. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive throughout the meal. Even though it’s pricey, I’d still come back for the quality, the atmosphere, and a more special occasion meal. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is flawless! The service is outstanding, and everyone is highly professional and dedicated to providing an excellent experience. I also want to highlight that Monyque is a truly exceptional manager. She always goes the extra mile for her customers, and you can clearly see how much she loves what she does. Avra is a lovely addition to Boston’s dining scene and an excellent upscale Greek option. As someone with Greek roots just outside of Athens, I can be particular about Greek cuisine, and Avra did not disappoint. Our branzino was perfectly cooked, the cocktails were excellent, and the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream truly surprised me. such a simple dessert, yet incredibly flavorful and memorable who doesn’t love house made ice cream. What stood out most, however, was the service. While our initial server was pleasant, we were unexpectedly transferred to another server after our entrées were ordered, which felt like an unusual management decision. That said, we were ultimately delighted by the change because the level of service provided by Jonathan Maldonado was exceptional. Jonathan embodied the kind of polished, attentive service that elevates a good meal into a truly memorable dining experience. He was warm, personable, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and able to speak thoughtfully about the flavors and preparation of each dish. He anticipated needs before they arose, checked in at all the right moments, and struck the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine hospitality. What impressed me most was his kindness. After learning I had lost my voice, he went out of his way to prepare a special mint tea for me, a small gesture that made a lasting impression and exemplified the level of care he brings to his guests. It is rare to encounter service that feels so effortless yet so intentional. Jonathan is an absolute asset to Avra. The restaurant is fortunate to have him, and I have no doubt that many of his tables become repeat guests because of the experience he creates. We certainly will be requesting him the next time we make a reservation, and I would highly recommend that anyone dining at Avra do the same. I don’t often leave reviews, but after such a wonderful evening, I felt compelled to do so. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
