Love this place and it was the only place to go for drinks and food with the kids that had a playground - it was great! Though now it is not as family friendly with the playground gone. Can you bring it back!? We are always looking for a place to hangout with other families. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

HOA approved! Good food, great service, fun atmosphere at reasonable prices. The Backyard is so good that not even an HOA could complain. You can't beat the prices and the service! We got an appetizer, a beer, a soda, 2 entrees and 1 side, it came to $45 before tip. The service was top notch, so attentive and all the food came out in great time. The food was good. The burger was a little salty, the pulled pork was a little dry but the sauce help with that, and the deviled eggs where wonderful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We could watch the game but also just talk with the people you are with. The music selection was great and never to loud. We'll definitely be back to get a couple drinks, food, and chill. FYI if you are looking at reviews of what was once a kid-friendly restaurant - sadly, this is no longer a good spot for families. Went for the first time in a while with our 3 littles and to our disappointment the playground equipment is gone with gravel and picnic benches replacing the once fantastic restaurant play spot. Our kiddos, thinking they were going to a "play restaurant," were obviously unhappy about it but we were the only ones sitting outside at the time, so we told them to just go run around instead. Another family with a disappointed kid also expecting the playground ordered right behind us and our kids started playing together, so it didn't seem like too much of a loss until an employee (owner? manager?) came out yelling at them to stop climbing on the picnic benches. Again, it was just our two families out there and we, the parents, were all cool with it. Later the kids were running around some more and I guess someone climbed on something? (too quick for the parents to even notice) but the guy came out again yelling at the kids and telling us parents to get them under control. That experience on top of $10+ per kids meal, (ok with paying that at a place like Brennan's but for a nothing special grilled cheese with like 10 fries...? no thank you) I feel pretty confident saying this place should NOT be endorsed as "family friendly." They are clearly going for more of a sports bar vibe these days: getting rid of the playground and adding TVs, over-priced food with cheapISH drinks and ownership berating kids for playing outside... it’s definitely not a “backyard” for kids anyway. There are plenty of other good burger/sandwich spots in the city that better accommodate families with kids and we'll be going there from now on instead.
