We had a wonderful evening at Baculov dvor! Actually it was already closed for the season, but we were still offered the homemade delicacies (schnapps, orange peel preserved in sugar, etc.) to try. We were then allowed to look at the rooms, including an old oil press and souvenir shop. We also learned a lot about the family and company history. Finally, we were offered dinner because a larger group was expected anyway and the kitchen was already running. We had the whole terrace to ourselves. The food was great, all made from either homemade or regional products. The price for the food was justified. The ambience is beautiful. Old parents' house upgraded again in-house. Every detail was paid attention to and everything was done by the family themselves. Definitely worth a visit, you feel like you're visiting family. Hvala Jadranka, Ivo and Andrija in gostoprimstvu! Baculov dvor was the kind of experience you dream of having on any trip to the Croatian countryside. From the impeccable and warm service, to the cozy yet thought-through ambiance and farm to fork approach, this place will leave you feeling like you've ripped out a page of Saveur's top 10 travel tips. The locally sourced fish platter, freshly caught octopus, homemade bread, oil, vinegar, and wines, are all reasons to come back in of themselves. Andrija and his family will make you feel at home at every step of the way and have you wishing you had booked a room in their BnB just to relive the experience again the next morning. Absolute 5-star quality all around! Congratulations to the people who keep this place the way it is and I hope that others can come to appreciate all that it and they have to offer for many years to come. I was at Baculov Dvor for the first time today. I was very impressed. The food was very good, the atmosphere was perfect, the service was excellent. The food was very good, traditional, and the price was commensurate with the food. I recommend everyone who comes to Baculov dvor, in any case the host will be as enthusiastic as I was.
