We arrived at the Bar Harbor Restaurant just as the Kentucky Derby started. So, like the other patrons, we were glued to the TV until the race was over. It was exciting to watch! After sitting down, our server, Ian, took our orders. I had the New England bacon and clam chowder, which was not thick, but was very tasty. My husband had their BarHarby's beef n cheddar sandwich, consisting of warm shaved roast beef and melted smokey cheese sauce. He had the BBQ sauce on the side and did not use it as the sandwich tasted great without it. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Being a Maine-themed restaurant, I kind of had to get the lobster roll from here, of course Maine-style, which comes with the lobster meat cold and mixed with mayo. It also came with (oddly) two sides of slaw. Lobster rolls are interesting in that they cost a lot, for a small amount of food. This one was 35 dollars including tax, which is a considerable amount for a roll that weighs just 180 grams in total. It's also interesting in that unlike other expensive foods like wagyu or caviar, the taste of lobster is not exceptionally different from similar foods. I would describe it as a step up from crab, with thicker meat, but due to the high leanness, it's not too different. What you're really paying for when getting a lobster roll is the scarcity - it's very tough to get the meat ready in time because how fast it decays after the animal's death. That makes it a bit of a tough sell. Even with those constraints though, I did really like this. I have to start with the bread. This is some of the best bread I've ever had in a roll. The outside was so perfect it's tough to describe - an astoundingly great deep brown resulting from the toasting in butter. It was so crispy, and resulted in a heavenly mouthfeel when you bit into it. This was consistent throughout both outsides and not just present in spots either. Compared to it, the inside was so soft and fluffy. If you put anything, absolutely anything in this roll it would've been elite. Thankfully, the mix inside was good too. There was actually a surprising amount of lobster meat inside; it was pretty packed with it. These came in pretty large chunks mostly. You could tell these were cooked well - they had a nice chew to them and felt really meaty. I also loved the amount of mayo in here, it served to add a lot of flavor to the inside of the bread, and complemented the flavor of the lobster well without taking away from it. The slaw was fine. It honestly just tasted like cabbage, with a very small amount of mayo, and little acidity. Was this worth the price? I still would say no, because $35 for this roll is tough to justify when you can spend half that and get a meal that you can split across two meals. However, if you were to get a lobster roll, I would absolutely recommend this one as the best I've had in Seattle, way over the one from Pike Place Chowder. Overall, despite the price, it's tough to get better than this place at lobster rolls. 8/10 Price per person: $30–40 Food: 4
