Went here recently on vacation. This place IS tourist friendly but not a tourist trap. It served great quality burgers and I would and already have recommended it to multiple relatives. We ordered potatoes and two cheeseburgers. All of our food was burnt, besides a few potatoes, that were undercooked. There was no one in the burger place before us, so it makes no sense why the chef burnt it. If you charge 14 euros for a simple cheeseburger, have some decency to throw away the burnt patties and make new ones. The food was dripping oil and no flavour besides charcoal could be detected. We ended up eating the burgers entirely because we were hungry, but they were not filling at all, so the entire meal ended up being a waste of money. Place itself looks nice and we could tell that they use decent products. It’s a shame that all of it goes down the drain because of a bad cook. Making a burger or baking a few potatoes is not even hard. Perhaps a good place for a first date, because the collective bad experience gives you something to bond over. Bar SOTA delivers one of the best burger experiences I’ve had in Rome. The smashburgers are spot‑on — crispy edges, juicy center, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The homemade bread is incredible, soft and fresh with that warm, just‑baked aroma. Even the potatoes on the side were perfect: roasted beautifully, crunchy outside and tender inside. A simple meal done with real care. Absolutely worth a visit for anyone who loves a great burger. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
