Usually really happy getting food from here. Although tonight I made an order and they left out $50 worth of food. I ordered again and then they sent the wrong meal, which I now can’t eat as they have sprinkled nuts on something that doesn’t normally have nuts on it, with no allergen information specified in the description. Really disappointing and a waste of over $100 for nothing. I would suggest going in, over ordering online. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Went in at 5:50pm and ordered a serve of tempura mushrooms as they didn’t have any available she told the cooks out the back to make some. As she did this the cook stuck his head around the corner and swore under his breath at me. I walked out straight away even though the kind lady serving me told me not to worry about it. Fancy having a job to serve people food and then be mad when people order food. Also I get it that it can be annoying sometimes but don’t let you customers see it because it is not a good look at all. Price per person: $1–20 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We visited Bento on York Street with high hopes and ordered the Wagyu Donburi and a custom dinner box. The wait time was reasonable, and we were genuinely excited to try the food. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly faded once the dishes arrived. The Wagyu Donburi was incredibly bland—no flavor, no seasoning, just a disappointing bowl of tasteless beef and rice. We tried salvaging it with soy sauce, but even that couldn’t help. Desperate for some flavor, we asked for curry sauce, only to be charged $10 for a tiny bowl that barely made a difference. It felt like a steep price for such a small portion, especially when it didn’t improve the dish. The custom dinner box was okay—not amazing, but passable. Overall, we left feeling dissatisfied, especially considering the hype around wagyu and the premium pricing. Bento might have other decent options, but based on this experience, we won’t be rushing back. Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
