The first time was so good that we decided too go back last nigth and order the piggy plate like the first time but what a disapointmemt,the meat was cold and so dry, we told the staff but really didn't cared,$85 plus $5 for chips, what a waist. ORDERED: Buttermilk popcorn chicken with Buffalo sauce ($12.00) Loaded corn chips with beef chilli, pico di gallo, sweet corn, jalapeno, sour cream & spring onion ($22.00) Mac & Three Cheese ($8.00) Big pig cornbread muffin, baked with cheese and jalapeno ($6.00) Nice to share: Beef brisket 100g, Pulled pork 100g, pork ribs served with coleslaw, potato salad & chips served with pickles & BBQ sauce ($30.00pp) Sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream ($14.00) It was $32.91 for my portion, which included the 1.2% card surcharge. REVIEW: My favourite at Big Pig Canteen was the Mac & Three Cheese and the sticky date pudding! The Mac & Three cheese was well cooked, the macaroni fun to bite in to. Although there are three types of cheese involved, it wasn't overwhelming and everyone snatched it up. Sticky date pudding was a sweet way to finish our meal with the rich, buttery, subtle vanilla taste coming through with the butterscotch sauce. A great compliment to the vanilla ice cream! Wasn't a fan of the nice to shares. Although I appreciate it was made in large portions, I found that the meat was dry or overly peppery. Pork ribs are my reluctant favourite in this bunch. Wasn't a fan of the pricing of the corn bread muffin either. It's very small compared to the Mac and Cheese 'snack', and if you were to cut it into 6 ($1 per portion) it doesn't have the grand portion size as the other items we ordered. Loved the decoration and vibes. Big Pig is a great place to bring friends, to dine and share food in a great big hall with tables and very outback vibes. It is part of the service to get your own cutlery, water and plates. However, I did find the staff struggled to keep up with the demand so I ended up clearing my plates in between the courses as well.
