Spent several days in Inverness and completely fell in love with this spot. Birch Coffee has amazing coffee! As a roaster they have a rotating selection of beans from different regions, and the Peru and Geisha pour-overs were my favorites. The cold brew was also top-notch and one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Beyond the coffee, they offer a great selection of sweet and savory food options that really hit the spot. I ended up stopping by multiple times during my stay and was impressed every visit. Seating inside is somewhat limited, but there is additional outdoor seating available. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about coffee. Their enthusiasm for the craft made the experience even better and kept me coming back. I tried quite a few coffee shops around the Inverness area, and Birch Coffee clearly stood out as my favorite for both quality and consistency. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area. Hipster, cozy and great quality. This small place next to the commercial street in Inverness offers delicious pastries and drinks. Everything is top. The prices are premium and comparable to specialty cafes in London. Worth visiting if you’re in the area! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hands down the best coffee shop I’ve visited in Inverness — and honestly, one of the best I’ve experienced in Scotland and the UK overall. Birch Café truly deserves its place in the Food Guide 2025. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. The staff were incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and took their time to guide us through the menu and the story behind their products. A few highlights: Exceptional Coffee Beans. Their beans are roasted on the Isle of Skye, and you can really taste the quality and craft behind them. They sell bags to take home — a bit pricey at £18 for 250g (and a special edition at £32 for 250g), but genuinely worth every penny for the flavour and freshness. Perfectly Balanced Coffee. Our coffee was incredibly smooth, beautifully strong, and had a lovely roasted depth that lingered in the best way. Truly expertly made. Chocolate Brownie Heaven. The chocolate brownie with sea salt was unreal — gooey inside, slightly crisp on top, and with a rich flavour that paired perfectly with the coffee. One of the best brownies I’ve ever had. I will 100% be returning every time I’m in Inverness — no question about it. An absolute gem of a café. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10
