Great atmosphere, nice outdoor seating too. It's located on the lower level of The Boar's Head Resort which is world-class!

I had two experiences at Bistro 1834 and both were terrible. I was staying at the Boars Head In for a bachelorette weekend. On Friday night, we decided we wanted a more relaxed dinner so the seven of us went for dinner at the Bistro. Menu isn't very large but we all found something we liked. It took some time to get the drinks and I requested a water which didn't come out until dinner was almost done after asking for some multiple time. We had several rounds of drinks but each time, it took forever for us to get the waitress over. She said they were short staffed as they didn't have a bartender. So each waitress had to also pour all their drinks. Despite the mediocre service, we elected to go in again the next evening for cocktails. Three of us walked into the half-empty Bistro and sat down in the arm chairs. The waitress practically threw the menu on the table and walked away without even saying hello. We wanted to order drinks immediately as well all knew what we wanted but we weren't even given the opportunity. After 15 minutes of waiting, I finally approached a different staffmember as our waitress was no where to be seen. She gave me quite an attitude but came to the table to get our orders. We witnessed her walk over to the waitress afterwards and could tell she was telling the woman off, which is not very professional. Another 15 minutes went by and the rest of our party joined us. We elected to move outside where there was more space (this place is pretty small keep in mind) and the same staffmember before gave us attitude about moving outside. We sat outside for another 15 minutes waiting for the first round of drinks and waiting so the second half of our party could order drinks. After another five minutes of nothing, we got up and left. I suggest the Bistro get themselves a bartender or staffmembers that can handle getting food and drinks for about 10 tables. It is absurd that we saw at least 3 waitresses for so few tables yet service was soo slow. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you like waiting around.

Food was bland and boring. I had a steak served over mashed potatoes and it was a liquid mess. Over priced and the service was extremely slow especially since the place was nearly empty. Nice atmosphere but I would pass.
