Go a little off the beaten path... What a gas-tasting experience! When we visited Bruges we stopped at “De Eetkamer”. From outside you wouldn't believe what awaits you inside. After a warm welcome and the question about the emo error, I ordered a gratinated Camembert toast. What can I say: A composition that I have never eaten or enjoyed in this form. Sweetness and spiciness complement each other perfectly. The Camembert is presented with a sauce enriched with apple, fig and nut variations. The photo reflects that. Vegetable chips and taccos were served in advance. Very, very tasty! The ambience is also good. Really worth a visit! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Please do not go into this place unless you want to be faced with the racist barraging of a man who I assume is the owner. I walked in to enquire on lunch service. I being a mother with my two daughters aged 6 and 8. The man’s first words were “this is not a public toilet!”. I responded somewhat in disbelief that I heard the words right “perhaps there is a misunderstanding, we are here for lunch, should you still be serving?!”. He then proceeded to raising his voice further calling us stupid tourists and some more. This in front of a fairly full restaurant of a total of 6 tables!!! My children were in shock, not understanding what was happening. Why does one have the innate propensity to be inexplicably rude. At best it was a lesson to the children on what the world turns into when rules of civility are broken! I have never written a review in my life. I have visited over 60 countries, but this was too shocking to let go. I wish and hope the local clientele especially has a read of this and perhaps take stock of the kind of man who is putting food on their plates. A man who has no place in the hospitality world!
