Randomly found this place on our road trip. Apparently this small chain has a great history. The food was great for the price. Gave a real north woods vibe. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

My daughter ordered us dinner.. I asked for a rare steak, baked potato, coleslaw and banana cream pie for desert. I started with getting the potato ready.. it was on the cold side and that rubbery texture of a potato not freshly baked but sitting around and it has a dark spot on one end.. not so great. The first slice of steak from the tip was gristly..hmmm and because I could feel it wasn't rare I cut through the middle.. in no way was it rare and it was tough. TOUGH!!. I GOT A STEAK KNIFE AND IT WAS, BY THEN COLD AND TOUGH..not sure what I was expecting of the coleslaw but this was not it. I found a night crawler outside the other night and picked it up. It was cold and rubbery, this is what the coleslaw reminded me of Moving on without eating anything.. I opened the banana cream pie and ok, the whipped cream tasted kind of marshmallowy? I used my fork to lift out what I expected to be a bite of banana with some kind of sweet custard? I wasn't expecting to miss the whole banana and custard part and hit a sawdusty cinnamony slightly vaporub flavored inedible disappointment. One bite and I passed it to my daughter.. try this.. her face was hilarious.. she looked at me as if I had played a trick on her and spit it into her napkin.. Ewwweee!!! I can't believe how bad EVERYTHING was.. oh the cornmeal muffin was ok. My daughter wasn't feeling well, didn't eat her meal so I can't speak on how hers was. Meal type: Dinner Food: 1
