thank you to the lovely staff who hosted the wake in the function room for a dear friend Matthew Riley. The staff were friendly and very helpful at such a sad time. Would recommend this venue Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had a wake here for a late relative. We only had a small party but they were very accommodating and set us to one side of the pub and we chose things off their menu to share between us. The food was lovely and the staff outstanding in every way. I can’t thank you enough. The parking was plentiful and the decor in the pub was very tasteful too. Not far from the local cemetery and was perfect for all the guests. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

So pleased that we used our discount code for a family meal out at the Blackpole Inn. It’s been done up beautifully! I hadn’t been in there in years. The food was delicious and the starter portion sizes are incredibly generous. Well worth your money. You will not need to eat another thing all day. Save yourself for this. It is so, so delicious! Our incredible server Leona was the star of the evening though. We’d booked a table and turned up with dogs. 1 who is training to be a therapy dog so we asked if we could move to a table slightly further from the main walkway so I could encourage her to lie down without being in the way. It wasn’t an issue at all and Leona suggested a perfect alternative, but was happy to accommodate us wherever we were most comfortable. Without even having to request the opportunity for my son to have a children’s menu she brought him one (I think she could see me panicking about the size of the gammon or burger he was debating ordering off the adult menu and swooped in to the rescue!). She was super informative letting me know I could order off the adult or children’s menu for him and it was no issue. She was able to recommend dishes and that certainly encouraged both of my children to order with confidence. As I was ordering via the app I appreciated this as it enabled me to have the process sped up. Despite being the only member of staff we saw on the floor the entire evening she always had a smile on her face and we were made to feel so welcome and accommodated. Whatever she’s being paid, she deserves more! Excellent customer service! Incredibly helpful and professional and if all the staff are like this I will happily return. The app makes ordering quick and simple and I highly recommend it, but it was great to have Leona on hand to answer questions about the food on offer.
