I had good three days there. Until when I left. Was a very bad unpleasant experience. Positive first: Capsules with curtain - nice. the matress was very worn out and uncomfortable at the head end. Simply turned myself around, head to the open end and it was comfy. Kitchen with pots pans and knives. Typical hostel kitchen, pans without handle, knives not very Sharp etc but you can cook your meals. Shower mostly hot. Nothing to complain until here. So why 2/5 stars? When I I wanted to leave In the evening I suddenly owed 6$ for last night? Pretty sure I paid. Receptionist was just rude, earphones in, didn't bother answering my question and left me standing around for like half an hour. Owner came and tried to guilt trip me when I left. Was the highlight and made me feel terrible. Not okay. You can communicate. Service: 3

The room was cold, a very noisy band playing early in the morning!! You could hear everything outside the room. On Google maps it said $12 which is why i chose it but when i got there it was $25! the only good thing was a hot shower. Service: 2

My experience in the blue house hostel was very good. This is mainly due to all the nice recepcionists. In addition, it was quite clean and I liked the decoration and the vibe. One receptionist, Ave, is absolutely lovely. Although, you will not believe me when you first meet him, because in the beginning he tends to being a little unfriendly if he doesn't know who you are and if you surely have a booking/ want to be a guest. But looking back, I think that's a good thing as the hostel is in the center of Quito, so just look at him like a dog doing his job and as soon as he knows you are welcome at his home, he will be tame and cuddly (HAHA well maybe not cuddly, but very very nice to hang out with) There is another recepcionist that I have talked to a bit more and who received me in the middle of the night with a smile. He is a kind person and I have enjoyed his company, too. Only sometimes I did not enjoy him occupying pans and pots for ages as it is difficult to cook without them. Happens to everyone, to some just apparently a lot ;) Anyways, long story short: Thanks to the employees there for making my time so much more fun and I would definitely recommend the hostel.
