The Boatside Inn is conveniently situated to Hexham, Housesteads Fort, Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum. Our "Hadrian" twin bedded room was spacious and comfortable. The shower room and shower was of a good standard. Unfortunately, we were staying on a Monday night when the pub is closed, so we were unable to enjoy its hospitality and menu. Service: 4

We only stayed one night as part of our cycling trip along Hadrians Wall. We would highly recommend a stay here. The little cottage was perfect. It was beautifully decorated and well equipped. The food was great and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Service: 5

We hadn't visited the Boatside for a number of years, but after coming across your Facebook page, we were amazed by how much of the menu could be adapted for those with Coeliac Disease. From start to finish, the service was fantastic. The knowledge shown by your team, the recommendations provided, and even having a gluten-free beer available were all real highlights for my husband. The food was outstanding – one of the best, if not the very best, Sunday roasts we have ever had. Your chefs, staff, and menu are an absolute credit to you. Most importantly, thank you for recognising and catering so thoughtfully for the gluten-free community. Service: 5
