Tried for the first time on a Saturday. We got seated immediately but at a table that was uncomfortably close to another. I had to walk sideways to get to my seat. The service was good. The bread was strangely dense almost like a pound cake but the roasted garlic was a nice touch. The salad was nothing special. I ordered the chicken piccata. I ate about three bites. The noodles were strangely thick and too al dente for my taste. The chicken was wet and stringy. Kinda look like it was boiled. The sauce was not much of a sauce. The wine wasn’t cooked down enough at all so it was just runny and harsh. Also the pasta shape held absolutely no sauce. My fiancé got the vodka pasta. The sausage was chopped into squares? Not enough sauce and noodles were also undercooked. He said it “tasted frozen”. Overall I don’t think we will be going back. I was disappointed and hoping for a much better experience. I think if they changed a few things it could be a really nice place. They need to change the recipes. Sysco is not doing this place any good. Left two full plates of pasta on the table. Had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Bocca Italian Kitchen. The House Old Fashioned was excellent — perfectly balanced and one of the better cocktails I’ve had in a while. We started with the fried calamari and spinach artichoke dip, and both were outstanding. For dinner, I had the Salmon Toscana and my friend ordered the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were incredible too. And then there was the limoncello crème brûlée for dessert absolutely delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service all around. Highly recommend Bocca Italian Kitchen if you’re looking for an amazing night out in Houston. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
