Love, love, love this place. It is always a staple stop each year we go to Helen. The owner and her daughter are so amazingly sweet. It is a must stop if you go to Helen. Best German in that town or honestly anywhere. Meal type: Dinner

The pretzel and the mustard and cheese they serve with with it for $14 were excellent. It was warm, soft and tasty. I ordered the pork schnitzel for $23 and it came with a side so I got their German potato salad. Both were okay at best. The quality of the pork was poor because there were sections that were tough but others that tasted fine. The German potato salad was cold and bland. We liked the Read canned German potato salad better especially when hot. My husband’s chicken schnitzel was good and juicy along his vegetables. The service was good and the place was fine. Because of the pretzel and service I rate it a 4 although the entree was a 3. The desserts in the display didn’t look good. For the price of 93 with tip I would eat elsewhere. If you're ever in Helen and are hungry for a hearty German meal, Bodensee is a great place to go! You get plenty of delicious food, a choice of dining area, and plenty of generous portions so you're guaranteed not to leave hungry. There's something for everyone - even the pickiest of eaters. The spatzle is delicious, plain or with cheese! The garlicwurst is flavorful and robust without being fatty and heavy. We even enjoyed the sauerkraut! Our only regret was that we were too full to try any of the desserts. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
