Boook cafe is located in the centre of Tohoku university's Aobayama campus. It is one of the only places in near proximity where you can enjoy a real cup of coffee. The atmosphere of the place is nice although, during lunch hours it does see a lot of students passing through and ruining a calm moment. This should however not affect your decisions to go there.Being a European and needing my daily dose of caffeine to survive, it is hard to find a nice cup in Japan. Mostly this is due to the popularity of American style coffee shops.Not only does boook cafe offer delicious espressos but the regular drip coffee is full of that strong flavour I so crave.2 types of coffee are offered: blended for ¥150 and premium for ¥250.If you have a sweet tooth, the cafe also bakes their own pastries daily. A must try if you're ever passing through the campus.Personal favourite クイーンシュー (kouign-chou) a combination of the French Kouign-amann and a Chou à la crème.In my opinion the best time to go us early afternoon, once the lunch rush is passed and you can enjoy the peace and quiet accompanied by a hot beverage
