While in Brussels, I really wanted to try Moules Frites. And this spot did not disappoint. I got the mussels in wine sauce, which was light but still very flavorful. The mussels themselves were tender, and paired very well with the fries (or frites). I also got some beer (because Belgian beer is always a must), which was nice and refreshing. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant itself was warm and welcoming. All in all, will recommend to anyone visiting Brussels for some delicious Belgian food!

First time eating Belgium food and I was pleasantly surprised. The thing to eat here, past waffles and chocolate, is just this bowl of mussels which is exactly what I did. Came here pretty late at night on a weekday and we were still able to get a seat which we were very grateful for. I hypothetically only ordered the mussels dish but the owner was so nice to give us 3 extra dishes on top of that: 2 appetizers and 1 dessert. All the food overall was a 4/5 stars, the service was 6/5, probably one of the best service I ever got at a restaurant. - Complimentary Bread - Loved this bread, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Went super well with the butter which I felt like I can literally eat unlimited of. - Classic Mussels and Fries - I thought this was such a hilarious dish to be the seemingly national dish of the country as Brussels itself is not located near the ocean. Essentially this dish is literally just a tub of boiled mussels and fries on the side. In general, I have been noticing that the fries don't usually come with sauce here so you do have to ask for it in addition. The mussels were pretty good, tasted a bit like chicken to be honest, but very tender and there was so much of it. I do think the winner though was the celery, onion, and mussel soup at the bottom of it which was so rich in seafood flavor. I do think it would be pretty easy to make this dish at home though. - Complimentary Chocolate Mouse - At first we thought the mousse was ice cream because the mousse itself was so cold but turns out it was not, but it was still delicious. Not super sweet which is usually my biggest worry with mousses. Overall, fantastic experience here at Brasserie de la Ville. The owner doesn't speak a ton of English but they are truly the nicest people ever and I would definitely go back again to try some of the other traditional Belgium dishes.

Brilliant food and service always go the extra mile with little added touches, definitely recommend for a great meal out.
