So disappointing! I hadn’t been here for a decade, and it’s awful what it’s turned into. It’s not a restaurant anymore, you order at a counter and get your own coffee and water and silverware m, pick up your order when it’s ready and bus your own tables. My huckleberry pancakes came with a teeny plastic lidded container of compote (maybe 1.5 tablespoons?) and a bit larger container of syrup (2-3tbsp). My bacon was oddly chewy/tough—it had a nice flavor but was hard to get through. My boyfriend couldn’t eat his brisket it was bland and tough but the gravy/sauce was heavy and sweet, and so gross he couldn’t eat the poached eggs it covered. The whole place felt off—the counter guy was complaining pretty loudly to someone (maybe an uber eats guy?) about someone else’s complaints about service and food, so atmosphere wasn’t great either. Too bad this pleasant 00’s restaurant has turned into this. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

After landing from a long trip from Monterrey, Mexico, I decided to visit Portland for the first time. I hadn't eaten anything for hours, and when I got here I was a little unsure about what to order, but the staff was very friendly and recommended chicken and waffles. It was the first time in my life I had tried this combination, and it was the best thing ever! I can't forget the taste, since I don't have anything similar here in my city. Without a doubt, when I visit Portland again, I will come here. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’ve been coming to the waffle window for years. Since about a year ago the waffle window moved to the Bread and Ink cafe. The first week in December we decided to hit this place for the first time in almost a year with my nephew. I ordered the savory Brie, bacon and basil waffle which was quite smaller and drier than I remember it. The prices went between $15 - $18 per waffle (more than double what it was before). My nephew ordered the Nutella, strawberries and whipped cream which was good except the waffle was dry and not crunchy on the outside and spongy in the inside as it used to be. It’s unfortunately that the prices have increased and the quantity and quality has decreased.
