I used to not mind this place and put up with the inflated price you pay here for a relatively small serving compared to any other sushi place because the sushi was always fresh and relatively good quality and there weren't any other joints too close by. However, from tonight I won't be visiting this place again. After ordering mini tuna and avocado rolls for take away, I walked home to discover it the sushi roll had an orange and green filling. I assumed it was spicy tuna - not what I'd ordered, but okay - but at a second glance and taste I discovered to my dismay that it was actually 80% grated carrot with a minuscule amount of tuna smooshed in between. It barely tasted of tuna, just like fishy, sweet grated carrot. Either they ran out of tuna at the end of the day, which they could've told me and I would've had something else, or it was a cost cutting mechanism, which is pretty funny considering how expensive this place is to begin with. Either way I won't be ordering from here again. Long story short: if you're desperate for sushi and don't mind paying a bit more, then go for it. Otherwise maybe get a kebab or Mexican from next door instead.
Adequate sushi takeaway and casual din dins nook in the Kingsgate Mall. Easily the best eatery in that nasty little cave...which says nothing sure but it's alright. Yeah you can get sushi with brown rice that looks more sick kidney purple than brown, doesn't make it taste any better (or worse), but it might be a somewhat healthier choice. Also rice paper rolls, normal sushi / rolls and some pretty good rice and noodles dishes if you eat in. Last time I had a tempura udon and was quite edible. Free water for paying customers.
Sushi is consistent quality wise and reasonable prices.
My fave is the brown rice California roll (prob not the healthiest with the mayo) but who cares it tastes good!
