Bull Docks suffers from poor hospitailty management. The food is very good, but the service doesn't make it worth waiting for. We went there for a Birthday dinner with some out of town guest, and were impressed with the food we received, while disappointed with the food we ordered and did not receive. We were a party of only five. One entree was served before any of the appetizers arrived. There was a terrible wait between the serving of each entree, and the appetizer was delivered to the table somewhere between the second and third entree to reach our table. In all, only four of our five entrees were served. The fifth never made it to the table. One guest was never served, and one entree was served with one less crab cake than the menu describes. The drinks arrived slowly and random as well... This is not the fault of the server, aside from her neglect. had she been more attentive, perhaps we could have addressed our concerns before they were grievances. Her inexperience should have been been addressed by management before sending her to anyone's table. Actual training matters. The atmosphere is nice but the etiquette needs discipline. Ideally guest should be greeted and seated. Menus and water should be placed in front of each guest. The server should politely excuse themselves and allow guest to read the menu for 3-5 minutes. Return to with bread or whatever complimentary appetizer may be offered, and take orders. This is the time to assist, with recommendations and answer questions as well. Appetizers and/or starters must reach the table before the entrees. Soups, salads, cocktails etcetera, before the entrees. Every guest must receive their entrees in the same serving. Then ask if drinks need refills. Either with refills or after no later than 5 minutes return to table to check on guest. To ensure everything, including service is satisfactory... Our visit was especially inexcusable because 2/3 of the restaurant was empty for 90% of the time we were there. Poor management is not a good excuse. The food was tasty, but I do not recommend continuing to serve shrimp or any other seafood without cleaning it first. Even if you want the guest to do some peeling, they should not be doin all the prep work. cut the back of the shrimp and remove the end trail, then rinse, before cooking. Overall the menu is worth returning for but if all other shortcomings aren't remedied by the next visit, I wouldn't bring anyone there. I do want the Bull Docks to always be successful.
