Reached at around 12 which is quite early but we were able to put our luggage in a special room. The lady in the front desk was really helpful. The room is nice with a lot of flowers on the balcony the bed was soft and the quilt was thick enough. The only thing bring down was that it is in a quite ulu place so it might be hard to find it although its location it is still very close to the main street.

Close to the station a definite positive. The best views of the Matterhorn are limited to the top floor and a segment on the left hand side facing the Matterhorn. The rooms do not have a mini bar fridge but have recently been renovated. Service is good, breakfast nice and there's a free tea and cake in the afternoon. Service: 4

We stayed at Hotel Butterfly, Zermatt for two nights and paid around $780 USD, yet received service that was completely unacceptable. From arrival, the blonde receptionist (Reneta, I believe) was rude, unwelcoming, and dismissive. No greeting, no explanation of the hotel, no basic courtesy. Despite emailing in advance about the shuttle, none was sent, forcing us to carry four heavy bags uphill. When questioned, her response was a careless “Did you tell us?” - followed by no apology or solution. We were given a 6th-floor room when the lift only goes to the 5th, with no assistance or instructions. Every interaction with reception was met with attitude, as if guests were a burden. To make things worse, there was no proper Wi-Fi connectivity at all, which is unacceptable in this day and age - especially at this price point. Breakfast was mediocre, staff were unfriendly, and the location is nothing special. There is absolutely nothing positive or memorable about this property. We travel extensively and have never experienced hospitality this poor. This stay completely ruined what should have been a relaxing time in Zermatt. We have traveled across the world and have never encountered hospitality this demeaning. This experience has genuinely tainted our stay, and it is not something we will forget. I would never recommend this hotel to friends or family — whether in Italy, Switzerland, or anywhere else. Management seriously needs to re-evaluate their staff’s behavior, professionalism, and suitability for guest-facing roles. Guests deserve respect. Basic courtesy is not optional. A truly disappointing and shameful experience.
