Been here many times over the years. New ownership has improved the quality and style of food being served. I usually go for breakfast, and the food is always good, and portions have gotten bigger. Last week we decided to go for dinner, and it's like a completely different restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the grouper special. The skirt steak also looked really good, and was enjoyed. House-made tiramisu was a hit. Will definitely go back and recommend. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Love it! This place is my go to. Great food, great service, and great prices. How can you go wrong? I have been coming here for many years and never had a bad experience. How is this possible? I don't know. I have been to all the other local places and Cafe 14 beats them all hands down. Please don't change you are the best! See you on Sunday. If you're looking for excellent food that doesn't disappoint and a warm family atmosphere you will love Cafe Fourteen. We have just started coming here, having been Palatine residents for over 40 years. This place is always busy, but the wait is never too long and staff acknowledges your presence when you enter. Our server, Ashley, came quickly, was friendly and prompt taking our orders and delivering our food. I have never had the lunch entrees but breakfast dishes are excellent quality, never disappointing. The restaurant is a bit crowded with succulents. Clear off the barrier of plants from your hostess table please, but overall it is clear that loving attention is paid to decorating. My only complaint would be that dogs are allowed in the restaurant...gross. Dogs on the outside dining space is fine, inside is just not acceptable.
