What a great evening at Café Tehran! Our large crowd was warmly greeted and treated as family. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic, not only by my Persian standards, but my mother and khalehs, and my Québecois husband who has a very refined palate. Save room for the saffron-infused ice cream, you won’t regret it. The vibe and atmosphere progressed throughout the evening as the restaurant filled with people and the music shifting from classical traditional rhythms to upbeat Persian pop. We will certainly be back, the daily lunch specials menu was a great teaser for our next visit. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$30–40 Recommended dishes: Kebab Platter, Chicken Breast Kebab, Mirza-Ghasemi, Gheimeh Bademjun, Yogurt Drink

I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The calligraphy pieces of art on the walls were fantastic and gave the restaurant a glimpse of Persian art. The staff was very polite and friendly. The portion of the food was more than enough for one person. The only issue was the food itself. They can still work on it and it could improve a lot. The chicken kabob was raw and wasn't cooked enough. The koobideh was OK, but not the best it could be. Overall, it was ok, but I will try other Persian restaurants in the town next time. A delightful new restaurant in Ottawa, serving authentic Persian cuisine at reasonable prices. The menu is extensive and includes meat and vegetarian dishes as well as sweet delicacies, such as saffron ice cream, baklava and others.

Portions are generous and could easily serve two people or one could choose scaled down portions from the kids’ menu. Ambiance is bright and clean, with comfortable seating. On foot, it is a 15-min walk from the Rideau Centre and it is quite worth it - a scrumptious meal awaits you.

Will definitely return to this restaurant!
