I've been here a couple times. The atmosphere in the main room of the restaurant is really nice and clean. When ordered from the menu the portions are large and the food is fresh. Service from staff is alright. Free parking in the plaza. Things I am not happy with and would definitely come into play when deciding if I'd ever go back. The drink prices for beer or a cooler is outrageous. $12 for a bottle of beer or a cooler. No beer on tap. No tallcan options. Very little cooler options. The washrooms are a completely different look than the main room. Run down, broken, unclean, and smell like sewage. Last visit was a special event. They advertised $40 all you can eat appetizers and djs for a day party. Paid $40 for a buffet of 5 items. Wontons dried out. White rice basic. Sautéed vegetables were alright. Chicken was ok. And the wings... I got 3. I've had good, fresh food, big portions there before but that day was not it. Music was good but there was only 8 people in the place so it didn't get live. Overall not worth the $40 plus $12 a drink that day. Not sure if I'll be back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CA$90–100 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Calypso Hut Family Restaurant is indeed a family restaurant. Loved the hospitality and kindness from the staff and the owner himself. Outstanding food and I love that special chicken fried rice and that chowmein!! It's what I usually see being posted on social media and it is bomb!!!!Feel free to try out the $10 "LUNCH" all-you-can-eat from 12pm-3pm Monday-Friday(ONLY). $10 for a lot of food!!!!If you're not doing anything and feel like drinking and hanging out with friends in the area or even maybe 20mins drive, just stop by and enjoy this location!! Lively parties with known dj's from the caribbean culture on the weekends and different events hosted! I recommend for anybody to go here!!!
