5 stars for the staff. 0 for management. I honestly feel compelled to write this because I have never been so uncomfortable watching someone in a management/ownership position behave the way this man did in a restaurant full of customers. First and foremost, our server Haley was absolutely phenomenal. She was attentive, kind, professional, and genuinely went above and beyond. Every single time we come in, Haley has been nothing but wonderful to us. Even when she is busy with other tables, her work ethic and attentiveness never go unnoticed. The hosts and kitchen staff were also wonderful, and the food itself was great. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the actual service we received from the staff. The problem was the man who appeared to be the owner/management, whom I understand is named Fattahi. His behavior was honestly appalling. He was throwing things, slamming things, yelling across the restaurant, and creating an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone around him. What made it even worse was that this was happening in front of a restaurant full of customers and directly in front of my family. This was not a minor moment of frustration or someone simply having a bad day. This was blatant, aggressive, completely inappropriate behavior from someone who is supposed to be representing the establishment and setting the standard for the people who work there. What bothered me the most was watching him speak to and treat our server, Haley, the way he did. She did absolutely nothing to warrant that kind of treatment. Watching someone who had been working so hard, taking care of her tables, and providing genuinely excellent service be spoken to and treated that way was incredibly upsetting. He did not greet tables, acknowledge customers, or make any effort to create a welcoming environment. Instead, his presence alone made the entire restaurant feel tense and uncomfortable. You could feel the atmosphere change. I genuinely felt terrible for Haley. Employees deserve to be treated with basic respect, especially in front of customers. If someone in a position of authority is comfortable humiliating or aggressively reprimanding an employee in full view of the dining room, I can only imagine what that environment is like behind closed doors. And to be very clear: this review is NOT a reflection of the restaurant staff. The employees we interacted with were wonderful. Haley in particular deserves recognition for being an incredible server despite having to work through an extremely uncomfortable situation. What I am completely dumbfounded by is how someone who is apparently in a position of ownership or management thinks that behavior is acceptable in front of paying customers. There is a huge difference between managing a restaurant and intimidating the people who work for you. There is also a huge difference between correcting an employee privately and publicly berating them while customers are sitting feet away. I came in expecting a nice dinner and left feeling uncomfortable and genuinely disturbed by what I witnessed. Carrabba’s, your staff deserves better leadership than this. Haley and the rest of the team were wonderful. The food was wonderful. The service was wonderful. But watching someone in a position of authority act that aggressively and disrespectfully toward an employee in front of an entire restaurant is something I will absolutely not overlook. I sincerely hope someone higher up takes this seriously, because great employees should not have to tolerate being treated like that just to do their jobs. We didn't get our soup and salad until after our dinner was put on our table. Our waiter was good and apologized. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $20–30

UPDATE: After their remodel, this place took the biggest nose dive I'd ever experienced. After eating there just one time after the remodel, my husband and I became ill after eating their food, and the restaurant itself smelled so bad, it was nauseating just sitting there. As much as it pains me, because this used to be one of my favorite places to go for food, I will never be coming back to Carrabba's Italian Grill. This place deserves to be shut down. Pre-Update: I've been going to this place for years, and when I was a kid, the food had been genuinely spectacular. The food is always seasoned just right and tastes amazing. However, revisiting as an adult and after management changed, the food and service have changed as well. Sometimes the food is really good, other times I'm met with cold dishes and undercooked food. I generally order a steak, the lasagna, or the chicken trio. Every time I order a steak, I ask for medium rare. Every time without fail in the past 8 months, they have served me a blue or rare steak. This steak in the picture is after asking 2 separate times to take it back and cook it some more. After the second time, I was informed by the waitress that "this is how we do medium rare steaks here," and if I wanted it cooked more, I should ask for more well doneness. Now, I'm not an expert at cooking steak, and I will never claim to be, but steak doneness is pretty universal knowledge that should not change at all regardless of location or food type due to steak doneness being dependent on the temperature of the meat. I shouldn't have to ask for a steak to be cooked again more than once. They say they never change their recipes, but I have noticed many changes since I've been going there. The food is decent, and this restaurant is still a good place for an evening dinner. The service in them cooking my steaks wrong and serving my dishes cold have been an inconvenience not only to me but also to the staff, especially since this happens way more often than not. I want to keep coming back, but sometimes the service convinces me not to.
