We are very sorry for the disappointment you and your wife experienced, particularly after making the drive from Los Angeles to dine with us.Caruso’s maintains a dress code in keeping with the refined dining environment we strive to provide, and these guidelines are published on our website so that guests may review them prior to their visit. Our dress code asks gentlemen to wear a collared shirt and does not permit shorts, beachwear, athletic or sportswear, sports sneakers, caps, hoodies, or flip-flops.We understand and appreciate your point regarding the distinction between dress leather sandals and casual flip-flops, and we apologize that our current wording may not have provided sufficient clarity in this instance. Your feedback gives us an opportunity to review how we communicate and apply this particular aspect of our dress code so that expectations are as clear and consistent as possible for all of our guests.The standards are intended solely to preserve the atmosphere of the restaurant and are never meant to make a guest feel unwelcome or to discriminate between our male and female guests.
