Hello David it was myself that served you .. all our steaks come from our local butchers and we serve many every week .. I did infact check on your table and your wife said how lovely her steak was and you mentioned your steak was fatty .. I then offered to take your steak away and get you a fresh one as we can then return it to our butchers if it doesn't meet our usual standard. You refused a new steak ! I checked on you again and when clearing your empty plate with just a tiny bit of fat left on it no hard peas or undercooked chips (so these must have been cooked to a standard you still ate all of them.) As for the black mould running down the walls this is a huge over aggagiration. We are waiting some work on the restaurant wall which is signposted with an apology and you could have asked to sit elsewhere if it upset you. The Castle is an old building and it's kept clean. You made no attempt to argue about the bill at the time and trust me if i felt my meal was this bad I wouldn't have paid .. yet it's hard to argue it was so bad when you produced an empty plate. Thank you for the 5/5 service review. Please don't visit us again we prefer honest people. We offered to rectify the steak that you stated was not to standard, you declined,you ate it, paid for it and then like to moan on reviews. Ps .. I have photo evidence of the plates returned as we protect ourselves from people who like to try to damage hard working businesses like ourselves. I see you added a snippet on the end about visiting another pub as honest replies obviously hurt you. We have many many positive and honest reviews I hope people can see past your lies. As said I have photos of returned empty plate from yourself and witnesses to what happened in restaurant. Heard from the other pub you went to after ours .. your such a delight they have a nickname name for you as you upset some of the customers already and you told them we threatened to call the police which is yet another lie !
