Solid choice - but the glory of the past is gone. Good things first. You'll find a lot of tasty options if you're into crabs and shrimps. They also have a great Omelette station. However, everything else has deteriorated over the years. Juice is no longer freshly squeezed but store-bought, as is the cake. The crepe station was shut down for the day. It was tough finding someone willing to scoop the ice cream for you. The syrup for the French Toast is from corn instead of maple. The fruit platter and chia pudding - even though listed on the buffet menu - had to be ordered extra and took half an hour and two reminders to come out. I used to love this place, the view and ambiance is great but it has been going downhill for years. The food options keep getting cut down, 5 options for breakfast on weekends and a breakfast buffet. Paid 22 dollars for a small burrito and no sides that tasted like it was from a hospital cafeteria. 15 dollars for small kids pancakes. The price point is fine for a resort like this but make the food reflect that you’re at a luxury resort overlooking the ocean. It’s so disappointing for somewhere so nice to have gone downhill like this. Waiters are nice, hostesses are always unfriendly. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Disappointing meal with mediocre service I took my sister and her family who were visiting us to Catalina Kitchen and showed them Terranea resort. Our waitress, Anna, took our order- after 30 minutes of waiting we asked about our order and it finally arrived. Undercooked flatbread and incorrect order, and when we get charged for the order that didn't arrive. Anna seemed visibly unhappy to be there, and of course we were charged the 20% gratuity. Very disappointed- you won't see me there again.
