A distillery with a unique history that you can learn about on the distillery tour. Point of advice, though: eat before coming here. Whiskeys were good, but slightly one-note. Perhaps it was just the day I visited, but my experience was diminished by an off-putting sewage smell. Still, worth a visit.

A unique, historic setting, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We love the cocktail flight, which changes monthly. It's super tasty, with interesting, creative mixes and fun names. The last two times we've been in, Maria helped us and we had such a great time!! Will definitely be back.

As bourbon and whiskey have become "cool," I have brought friends, family, and co-workers here to see how it's made. Distilleries are springing up everywhere now ... I have visited most in the state of VA and the District. Catoctin Creek is the best of them all and is way ahead of the curve. Reminder that they're the first and had to have antiquated VA laws changed to operate the way they do today ... so if you're enjoying a tasting at a distillery? Thank Scott and Becky. If you're buying a bottle direct at a VA distillery? Again, thanks to Scott and Becky. Every bit as great now as the first visit I made here 5 years ago... Becky and Scott are just fantastic people ... good people make good booze ... this is some of the best whiskey money can buy. Period. Best anywhere. Now? If they'd just make some bourbon. I know you read these... show me some love: Make me some bourbon. Catoctin Creek Distilling Company is worth driving out of your way to visit. If you're local, stop by and buy your whiskey here (versus the VABC). Highly recommended.
