Soooo disappointed!! Food is always good but after a few years of frequenting there, this evening made me never want to go there again!! Here, I ordered and then listened to and older woman's order. She didn't get all she ordered and the attendant wanted to re-charge her. He kept insisting for her to scan her card again. I told him I wanted to see her order and I asked to see her receipt. He told her to scan her card again. I told her not to and asked him to to print her receipt, that I wanted I to see it. He finally did. She had ordered AND paid for what I heard...only to find out she also received news that she needed brain surgery during Christmas. I'll never frequent Cedar's again!! Really!! His persistence to recharge her and not producing a receipt until I pressed the issue. Bless this beautiful woman for being able to go out and order an enjoyable meal. Shame on the man trying to prove he was right without a receipt!!! Humanity!! Really!!??? I'm disgusted!! Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Exquisitely delicious food! Fresh ingredients, clearly good quality, healthful, generously portioned, all for shockingly affordable prices. It's a very quick/casual place, but we did dine in. The atmosphere was ok, not ideal but better than many places that charge far more money. No music to interfere with conversation. Plenty of seating. Bathrooms were serviceable, but gendered despite being single stall (totally unnecessary) and while they're probably big enough for a wheelchair, you can't actually get into them with a wheelchair, so that's moot, sadly. Service was fine, place seemed clean. As a pescatarian with a mostly Mediterranean diet, I was very pleased with the meatless options. I got the Moussaka Plate and it was absolute bliss. Overall, I think this is mostly a place for takeaway, but I would HIGHLY recommend it! Stopped into Cedar on Monroe Ave and was seriously impressed. It’s a small Lebanese spot where the focus is clearly on the food, and they absolutely nail it. I ordered the gyro plate, which came with hummus and a Greek salad. The hummus alone deserves a mention because it was SO GOOD. Smooth, flavorful, and easily some of the best I’ve had locally. The gyro itself was excellent too, well seasoned and very satisfying. My wife went with the shawarma plate, which also came with hummus and a Greek salad, and she was just as happy with her meal. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Another thing worth mentioning is the portion size. Both plates were huge. This is definitely a place where you leave full and feeling like you got great value for what you paid. The setup is simple. You walk in, step up to the counter to order, and the kitchen gets right to work. These guys are on it. We barely had time to sit down before the food was ready and we were digging in. The dining area itself is pretty straightforward and nothing fancy, but honestly that doesn’t matter. The real star here is the food. If you're looking for fantastic Mediterranean food without the fuss, Cedar delivers. Five stars all day.
