Unassuming little restaurant with an amazing dining experience inside. The friendly husband and wife team works hard to create a homey atmosphere while producing some of the best French cuisine we've had outside of France itself. Every element is meticulously crafted by hand, and for a one-man kitchen, is really impressive (one guy does cook-to-order entrees and the desserts! I'm tired just thinking about it). Part of me considered NOT reviewing them, just so I wouldn't contribute to making them too popular and risking not being able to get a seat the next time we visit! This was a lovely, lovely dinner. I was traveling solo, with very little Japanese language under my belt. The chef and server treated me so well, and we were able to communicate through Google Translate. The food was phenomenal, quite frankly better than a lot of food I have had in France. Perfectly buttery and garlicky escargot, prawns thar tasted like they were fresh from the sea, a phenomenal and thoughtfully curated cheese plate, and crème brûlée for dessert. Can't wait to come back the next time I am in Kyoto! Thank you to the C'est Sympa team for making me feel so welcomed. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
