I took a friend to dine. In fact, the company was impressed with the food. This person dines in chain restaurants because they look for food and quality to be consistent wherever a person travels. Absolutely a great place to take friends. The wine was great. Service was impeccable. Clean and atmosphere was wonderful. I would rate the establishment a higher rating if possible. The food quality was fresh and tasty, and the presentation was professionally done. I can't say enough about the experience. This is directed to the owner specifically. Your response to "Steven" is completely wrong. How dare you try to twist things. We were there, the 2 servers and 1 bartender were in over their heads. A good owner knows that when the staff need help, they pitch in, day off or not, I know as I was a business owner. You were there for at least an hour trying to get the video going, you had to know how chaotic it was and if you didn't then you shame on you. Your staff needed help. As for the food, there was not much there for $30 a person plus once the small amount of food was brought out, it did not last long and we had to wait a least 1/2 hour for the next serving (and there were many of us waiting) and this went on for the duration that we were there. We had to get our own drinks, there were no napkins, people preordered and waited until they were almost ready to leave before they got their order. The staff were free pouring (which could get you shut down), we had to get our own drinks, people were cleaning off the tables themselves. And I was wondering how were they keeping track of all the drinks that did come out? Nothing was written down by the staff, it is no wonder why there was confusion at the end. Is this is how drinks were obviously duplicated: hence the big unpaid bill in the end. As a business owner you have got to know that your best advertising is word of mouth and believe me there were a room full of very unhappy people (approx 45) that will be talking. You should have been apoligetic for what happened instead of going on the defense. A good business person would have tried to help fix the problem instead of being argumentative. We will never be back!! Please don't respond as were are not interested in hearing back from you. ----I am flabergasted at the response you are giving everyone. You are putting blame on everyone and not taking any responsiblity for anything, again, shame on you!! I would have done everything in my power to try and fix the situation instead of deflecting and arguing, that is what a good resturant owner would have done. I meant to mention before that I was at the table watching you for an hour trying to get your video system working and when you did, i said thank you to you and you never responded. You squeezed by our table of 14 a few times and never once asked how were things going, what kind of business owner does this esp. when you could hear the chaos in the background? This is called common courtesy. And what free drinks??? At our table of 14, not one of us was offered a free drink, I had to go and get our own, twice. My husband wanted a Bud Lt, none available then asked for Shock Top again none available. And to accuse someone of not paying their bill when they have the proof of reciept, and when they show you proof you still don't beleive them, who does that?? ----- I want anyone reading this to know that what the owner is saying only has the bare minimum of truth. We are all good people that just expected a nice evening and I don't blame the staff, they were overwhelmed. Some serious rethinking/retraining on customer service by the owner needs to be done. This matter is finished! ----Said I wasn't going to respond again but now you are saying our group was rowdy, OMG, further from the truth, my daughter was there just before 7 and said no one was yelling or demanding anything and I got there 7:15, was a normal group of people out for an evening.!!!! As for not paying bills I don't know about that as we left around 9:30, if service and food was so good, you need to ask yourself, why are people upset and refusing to pay the bill? People were not going there to bad mouth the resturant, they were there to celebrate a birthday. Her brother messaged me on Facebook and I told him I was so confident my server was telling the truth (that she refused to pay her bill) that I offered to refund her entire purchase $150+ and give the brother $150 if he could show the receipt showing she paid her bill in full. My server said she left some cash and walked out saying that she wouldn't cover the full bill. He admitted she didn't have proof that she paid her bill and blamed me for not having enough cameras (we do have cameras). I looked up her bill and it was voided when she walked out without paying for everything she ordered. If you can show a copy and proof that she made the payment, I'll give double the money back. Post it in the review so everybody can see if I'm lying or telling the truth. Also, I'm fairly sure I've already pointed out why the group was upset. The host told us not to serve guests for 45 mins after they arrived and when they were upset, he blamed us. The guests also demanded we change the layout of the room bc they didn't know the host instructed us to set the space for a cocktail reception instead of formal seating. He also said he booked the entire floor but quoted the min spend for the single room (which was confirmed in writing). The host also took servers away from service to troubleshoot his slideshow for an hour bc he ignored the advice to test it ahead of time. I'm pretty sure I know why some people left and were unhappy (not everybody, just the ones here defending the host (who hasn't made response). I get that mistakes can happen, but I'm not even sure what we could have done differently if the host miscommunicated and misinformed the guests about the agenda. Thank you for your review and feedback. Steven or whoever the host was knows exactly what was planned and its a shame that they didn't communicate the details with their guests. We did not recommend waiting 45 mins to serve food but your host refused to let us serve until after the guest of honour arrived at 7:30. Yes, I was there for an hour troubleshooting the slideshow after the host didn't test it out in advance as instructed. If you're a business owner, you would know better than to instruct other business owners on how to manage their business. How are we going to fit extra bartenders in a bar that only has one soda gun? 3 servers for 43 guests is more than adequate, in fact, we would normally book 2 servers for this type of event. We have had much larger bookings and the bar has never been the problem. Yes, the first round took extra time and the server generously bought a round for those who waited. It's interesting how that complaint keeps coming up in a negative light. Most hosts don't blame the venue for their booking plans. I'm sorry that nobody wanted to wait for the birthday girl but it would have been more complaining if we had disregarded the actual instructions for the host rather than be put in the middle. Anybody who has ever worked here knows we have very high standards and I hold the staff to account for errers made. In this situation, I don't know what else to tell them since the only real issue was that the first round of drinks for 40 took extra time (no, your drinks cannot be punched in and poured in 10 mins), because the few roudy guests were yelling at them from the start because they were hungry. We had food ready at 7 and it was last min planning (or lack thereof) which caused the bulk of the issues. We don't need to be everything for all people and, while we fervently do our best to accommodate our guests (with 11 years of positive reviews to show for it), we are happy to agree to disagree with you. We held my sister's small wedding reception at Chaise Café & Lounge, and every guest was delighted by the food and the atmosphere! The front of the building is stunning and makes a beautiful backdrop for dinner and/r photos. The rooms inside are the perfect setting for gatherings. Stacy's service was impeccable, and we were all extremely well fed and attended to. The Family Style Prix Fixe dinner meant everyone got to try some new things, and many guests were thrilled to find new favourites. I would highly recommend Chaise Café & Lounge for a solo meal, a date, or a group gathering.
