Visited on a quiet Thursday evening and asked to sit on the beautiful riverside patio. We also asked if the patio was dog-friendly, but after waiting 15 minutes without any service or acknowledgment, we left. We would have happily ordered drinks, but it was clear the staff weren’t paying attention to the few tables outside. Disappointing experience given the lovely setting, and unfortunately not somewhere I would recommend. Price per person: CA$100+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Hello Michael, We are so, so tremendously sorry that this happened today. There are no excuses to not been seen. With that said, I ask for your forgiveness, as we had a group of 26 people show up (when we do not take reservations) and we were admittedly overwhelmed. My wife and I visited for our 20th anniversary and left completely impressed. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the food was outstanding. As vegans, it can often be difficult to find good restaurant options—especially outside larger cities—but that’s absolutely not the case at Charlie. Vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, and celiac-friendly options are all clearly marked on the menu, making ordering easy and stress-free. The vegan Caesar salad was incredible, the roasted cauliflower dish completely blew us away, and they even had a vegan dessert option (which feels almost unheard of sometimes!): the pineapple upside-down cake. Every dish was thoughtful, creative, and packed with flavour. The drive to Consecon through Prince Edward County is beautiful, and Charlie is more than worth the trip. Vegan or not, I think anyone would enjoy this place. We may have just found our new favourite restaurant. We’ll definitely be back soon. Price per person: CA$60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Vegan, vegetarian and GF options clearly marked in menu. Vegan options include roasted cauliflower dish, vegan Caesar salad, vegan pineapple upside down cake and more.
