Charli's has been my daily coffee destination for years now; Jackie and all the staff are friendly, the coffee is great (and the best value in Newport), and it draws in all the locals so it's a great meeting spot. And dogs are very welcome. The North-facing courtyard is another bonus. Highly recommended. Price per person: $1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We just had an unfortunate experience at Charli's Cafe. We went there to get some work done while enjoying a meal. After ordering our food and drinks, we plugged in our laptops to charge, only to have the owner come over and rudely inform us that we couldn't use the power points for charging. I've never encountered a policy like this before, especially in a cafe that seems to cater to people looking for a relaxed environment to work in. The customer service was poor, and the overall experience was quite disappointing. We've now moved to another cafe where we feel more welcome. If you're looking for a place to work and enjoy a meal, I'd suggest going elsewhere. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
