I love this place. Firstly, it’s Halal! Second, the food is just perfect. Third, the customer service is very good. Aside from that my 1 year old loved it too

Handmade Turkish food in Garland, and especially at the Firewheel Town Center, chain restaurant central? TRUE!! The fare at the Chestnut Cafe is made fresh, served with love, and in an atmosphere of gracious hospitality. We immediately spied the gyro on the vertical doner rotisserie, and knew we had to get us some of that!! Unlike the gyro loaf in other places, this was clearly stacked thinly-sliced meat, more like schwarma than shaved meatloaf. We ordered 3 Gyro (really Doner kebab) sandwiches, and one Doner kebab platter. For aides we got a Greek salad and I had a bowl of lentil soup. The lentil soup was silky and smooth, finished with a small cube of butter. That's a pro chef move, and it added a silkiness and creaminess to the soup. I really enjoyed the soup, which was spiked with black pepper and thick with mild yellow lentils. Yum! The salad was large enough for two, with a bright vinaigrette over impeccably fresh vegetables topped with a generous handful of tangy Feta cheese. But for us the Doner kebab was the highlight of our meal. The meat was perfectly seasoned, real stacked meat slices (not shaved meatloaf) that made a delicious sandwich that's big enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. The owner and his son are so kind and attentive. They explained the different dishes they have on offer, and took great care to make sure our food was prepared correctly and that we enjoyed it. The owner gave us a large sample of the phyllo-spinach pie. We will definitely get this again, because it was DELICIOUS!! The spinach (which can easily be bland) was seasoned perfectly with salt, onions, garlic, and mushrooms. The flaky phyllo dough around the pie added texture and crunch. We ate half of our entrees because we wanted to save room for the homemade baklava and cookies on display in the case. We got chocolate cookies, apple cookies and the baklava - and we are so glad we did. Buttery crunchy baklava and those delicate delicious cookies were the perfect end to a great meal. The filled cookies looked like clouds but held a sweet apple cinnamon and walnut filling - we had never had cookies like this before. They are beUtiful to look at and delectable to eat!! The chocolate cookies are simple butter cookies studded with chocolate chips -- Yummm!! 5 delectable stars
