I visited with a member for dinner and really enjoyed seeing the property. We ordered a few different plates to share and everything was great. There were several plant-based food options and zero-proof cocktails which I appreciated! Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Luxury

Back in February 2023, a distressing incident occurred at Soho Chicago, during my time as a member. My guest and I experienced racial harassment from an unidentified individual, and I promptly reported the incident to Nevin, one of the managers available that day, the following day. Nevin assured me that he would inform the membership manager and conduct an investigation into the matter. However, despite being told that they would contact me to resolve the issue, no communication was received from Soho after the incident. Consequently, I felt uncomfortable returning to Soho and refrained from visiting during the rest of February, March, and April. To seek a resolution, I visited Soho again to speak with Nevin. Unfortunately, he informed me that they were unable to identify the individual responsible, offering only apologies without any tangible action taken. I expressed my need to speak with another manager regarding the matter, and Nevin provided me with Portia's email address. I promptly reached out to Portia, who expressed her apologies for not being aware of the incident and asked for an explanation of what transpired. Portia assured me that she would investigate the incident by checking the surveillance cameras. During our conversation, we also discussed the possibility of updating my membership status to "friends of Soho" until the matter was fully resolved. However, despite this discussion, the automatic payment for quarterly membership dues was not halted, resulting in charges that left me feeling deeply upset. In an attempt to resolve this ongoing issue, I immediately message Portia. Regrettably, she returned my call four days later, by which time I had already stopped the payment from my bank since it is an automatic withdrawal. I requested my bank to stop automatic withdrawal from Soho House. I sent her an email, expressing my desire to cancel my membership entirely due to the lack of organization and resolution from Soho House Chicago. This entire situation has left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the handling of the incident and the subsequent membership issues. It is deeply disheartening to witness the absence of a proper investigation and to be charged for membership dues after such an unfortunate experience only compounds my frustration. I sincerely request that Soho House Chicago address this matter seriously and promptly. I kindly urge you to credit back the membership dues paid from the date of the incident, as a gesture of understanding the gravity of the situation and the distress it has caused. I hope that my concerns are taken into consideration and that appropriate actions are taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future. I believe in the values that Soho House stands for, and I hope to see them upheld.
