Ate in recently and have had takeaway many times. Wouldn't go anywhere else for Chinese food, love the bean curd dishes and vegetable chow mein. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you like Chinese food you might want to give this one a MISS. We've ordered from here many times over the years and it's always been tasty. Our recent order however, was completely tasteless. I'm all up for MSG FREE food 100% but if you remove it then you must use more fresh garlic,ginger, chilli soy, etc. This had NONE of those things in whatsoever. There was a dribble of sauce in one of the mains, no prawn crackers despite spending a small fortune and it was the first time, in my life we've had to SALT a Chinese. The portions were tiny and we felt as a family, there was nothing nice about it at all. Such a waste of time and money. Bring back the old owners please and stop skimping on EVERYTHING! First time using China Express. We ordered a meal for the four of us, and for us personally, we won’t be using them again. Crispy belly of pork with rice - every piece of pork was so fatty and not edible at all. The two chicken currys were very hot ️️️. Maybe it’s our fault for expecting it to be mild or not spicey at all, like every other Chinese chicken curry we have had elsewhere. I would have appreciated it to be advertised that it’s hot. But there was no mention of it on the online menu. We couldn’t eat it as personally too hot for us. The flavour wasn’t great regardless. The two portions of crispy seaweed was nice. The one portion of chicken chow mein was ok, we’ve had better elsewhere. The one portion of chicken balls was nice but comparing to other Chinese takeaway/restaurants we use - they were very small. The service was very good over the phone when speaking to the lady. Food was delivered on time (45 mins). The quality of the food overall did not reflect price we paid. With delivery, our order came to £49, which was very expensive for what we got. Never again. Food: 2 Service: 5 Order type: Takeaway
