I often order Gong Bao, it's a favorite that didn't taste 100% but perfectly ok, feels like it was made with cheap sauce from Eldorado or something. But one night last week the dream came from this restaurant, a Gong Bao that tasted magical! It was not at all the same dish that I had brought home before, it was brown sauce with abundant flavors, just strong and just the way you want it. But this was probably a one-off, now to the disappointment: Ordered the same for lunch today, (4 days later) and then we were back at Eldorado. Red watery sauce that tastes like sour tomato, is it different cooks not following the same recipe? I want to give you lots of stars for the Gong Bao I got in the evening last week, but it's really under all criticism that it clearly doesn't follow the same recipe and you get a watery dish with a sour tomato taste for the same price, it's like night and day and as if you have ordered from two completely different restaurants. It really should stick to the same recipe and above all the "brown sauce" that tasted like you've tasted Gong Bao in other places! Fingers crossed that you look into this, because you've still proven that there are chefs who can make magical dishes! Yes to brown flavorful Gong Bao, no to red watery Eldorados-sour-tomato-sauce Gong Bao!
