absolutely love this place, but the girl working the window on 7/24/2026 around 6pm should never work the window, or a register, or in service ever again. we asked for a large S&S combo order and it was said 5 different times. got the order and my S&S was not large. we had to say 5 more times that i wanted a large order. she rang me up for the large order since somehow the original receipt still didn’t have a large order on it, and charged me 2$ more than i have ever paid and 5$ more than the original price. i always get the same thing. i’ve gotten the large order 5 times in a row and each time with my gfs order it has been 28.67. this time it was 30.94. The girl at the window also doesn’t understand that 2 crab rangoons on the combos means we want 2 crab rangoons and not an eggroll. she overall just sucks at window, and can’t listen to people at all. it’s a good thing the food is good or this place would not have the business it does. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Best cashew chicken in Springfield for at over 30 years!! I first ate here when i was 15! Now 32 years later ate here yesterday and the cashew chicken was still #1! I got the crab rangoon and drink with their free unlimited soup and desert bar a little under $15.00! Well worth it and nice people working there too and clean. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My wife and I have gone to Chinese Chef 2-3x a month, every month, since moving to Springfield 18 months ago; I have even referred friends and coworkers to this restaurant. Today, my wife and I went through the drive through and I ordered the large spicy chicken. When I got my food, they gave me a combo. I promptly went inside and calmly explained to the lady the mistake. She said “You will have to pay more.” And I said, “I have to pay more because your new employee messed up?” And she said yes. I promptly grabbed my food out of her hands and left. Regardless if somebody is a new customer or returning customer, this is not how you do business. It’s called making it right - especially given the frequency of my visits. They had never messed up before, but this blatant lack of respect is enough to lose my business and spread the word. That said, I will be finding a new Asian restaurant to frequent. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
