During our week-long stay on Okinawa, we decided to check out the promising-looking Mexican restaurant on the island, and by using Google reviews and photos of the food and margaritas, this was our choice. So expectations were high. We tried nearly everything on the menu. The biggest winners were the Carnitas Tacos and Bean Nachos (next time I would just stick with these!). The tortillas, both in soft taco and fried nacho form, are outstanding. We also enjoyed the Chicken Taco, Dirty Chicken Baleada and Carne Asada Taco. We were much less impressed by the fish tacos (deep fried fillet without much texture), nor the Chicken Quesadilla (not grilled long/crispy enough). The two areas where Chigones comes up short are the Salsas (which were more like blended, watery sauces) and the Margaritas (which tasted great but were tiny in size). The glass they're using is already small, but at least fill it to the top, and better yet, offer a Grande size or Pitchers. And, to really complete the Mexican experience, there has to be a Chips and Salsa option available, with thick, chunky, dip-able salsas. It's also tacky that the bar doesn't give any change when taking cash payments. Instead, the staff suggests "change" will be added to the "tip" jar, even though table service is not provided and customers have to bus their own tables after eating. Next time I would be sure to pay by credit card so I could avoid paying more than the listed menu prices for our food and drinks. Overall, we had a great meal here. This place has a lot of potential, and I look forward to visiting again someday in the future when we visit Okinawa again. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Disappointing birria quesadillas. Look at this pale,unflavourful piece of flour. Barely even pan seared right. Should’ve just went to the other place down the road. Also they give free churros if you leave a 5 star review explains a lot Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
