After a fun day at Cultus Lake Adventure Park with the kids (and friends), we rolled into Chilliwack hungry and ready to refuel. One of the parents suggested we try Coco Sushi and Bubble Tea—and I’m so glad we did! Our group of 13 basically took over the whole cozy dining room (only about 5 seats left). The place was spotless, the service was warm and attentive, and the staff handled our loud, high-energy crew like absolute pros. I’m pretty sure we were the noisiest table they’ve had in a while… normally this spot is probably peaceful enough for actual conversations that don’t involve “please just eat three more bites of veggies.” Portions were solid and prices were fair. I ordered the California & Alaska roll combo and shared with the family. The big signature quirk here? The purple rice mixed with blackberry juice—it’s not optional, so go in with an open mind! I really enjoyed it, though the kids weren’t as big of fans (a little tart for their taste). On the bright side, it’s packed with antioxidants… so I’m calling it my anti-aging secret. At almost 40, I’m still rocking that “forever 21” vibe. If you’re ever in Chilliwack, swing by Coco Sushi and Bubble Tea. We left happy, full, and couple grey hairs less. Nice little Japanese restaurant operated by a Burmese family. I tried their beef teriyaki bowl, and found the portion to be generous. The beef was not tough, and the meal was flavorful. The use blackberry juice to give the rice a dark color - I did not know that was actually a thing, but it added some character to what otherwise was typical fare for many Japanese restaurants. I hope to return to this one some time. Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Nigiri
