This was the perfect spot after a day on the River. The falafel was one of the best I've had in ages!! The staff were more than accommodating and welcoming! Solid place with great people and even greater food. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labeled vegetarian dishes

A few times a month, I make it my mission to take an adventure and explore new coffee houses. I was eager to explore the Italian Art Gallery nearby and Cold Spring Coffee House had good reviews, so I figured I would start my day there. Parking is street only and can be somewhat difficult to find, so be prepared and have the ParkMobile app downloaded. Inside, the coffee house isn’t overly decorated, but it’s still a nice environment. For me, I didn’t love how the tables were clustered together, but the interior was quiet enough to work, and they also have a few tables out front to enjoy the bustling street scene. The real “showstopper” at Cold Spring Coffee House is their beautiful array of delectable pastries. I mean, what other decorations could you possibly need? It was hard to choose between the many options, but I ultimately went with a Goat Cheese and Honey Danish, and paired that with a Medium Iced Vanilla Latte. I paid a little over $12 for both items, which I found to be more than fair. My croissant was incredibly unique, and I loved how the stickiness of the honey complimented the flaky layers. The goat cheese was a little sour, which was a tad offputting for me, but I love trying new food items that I don’t see everyday. My only “complaint” is that while I felt the croissant was a decent size, it wasn’t enough to satiate me. After hemming and hawing, I decided to go back inside and give their Apricot Danish a try. Unfortunately for me, it was close to 11AM and the line was quite long, so I settled for what I had. So, just be mindful of what time you’re visiting. Overall though, I had a great experience and really enjoyed my morning treats. Cold Spring Coffeehouse deserves credit for its creativity—did you ever have a poached egg and goat cheese cruffin? Neither did I. Beyond those inventive touches, the place fits right in with the charm of the village. The pastry and coffee selection is broad and appealing, making it a good stop if you’re in town. That said, prices are on the higher side for what you get—this is Cold Spring, not New York City. The backyard could also use a bit of TLC, but overall it’s a pleasant spot to grab a coffee and a snack. For me, it’s a solid four-star place: nice atmosphere, creative offerings, and worth a visit when you’re in the area. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Service: Takeaway Price per person: $10–20
